How to find a product
There are two ways to locate a product.
You can use a search bar located at top of every page. Type the product's keywords into
the search bar, from the drop down list select a particular category you wish to search, and hit the "Go" button.
If you wish to search all categories select ShelfSpy.
You can further narrow the search results by categories using the links located on the left hand side of the search page.
Search results are sorted by relevance by default and can be re-sorted by price or product name.
Another way is to browse our list of categories.
All products listed on ShelfSpy.com have been grouped into categories.
You can browse through the categories from the main page. To navigate to the homepage please use the "Home" link.
You can further narrow the results by subcategories, manufacturers or price ranges
by using links located on the left hand side of the page.
Products are sorted by price (low-high) by default and can be re-sorted by price (high-low) or by product name.
Does ShelfSpy.com sell any products?
ShelfSpy.com is not a shop itself, ShelfSpy.com represents the starting point, whereby shoppers
can locate products and compare prices as they are offered by individual merchants.
If a shopper wishes to purchase a product from a particular merchant, he or she can simply click on the product offered by the
merchant, and ShelfSpy.com will transfer him or her directly to the merchant's pages to carry out the purchase.
This is where our service to the shopper ends, after this step all matters are to be dealt with directly with the merchant.
How to register shop on ShelfSpy.com
As a first step, please create your user account. The "Register" link is located at top right corner of each page
or you can click on http://www.shelfspy.com/Register.
After successfully authenticating by using your user name (email address)
and a password, click on Register Shop link,
which is located within the user account menu on the left hand side.
You will be presented with a 5 step wizard where you can enter general details about your shop.
You will be able to modify these details later under "Merchant Account Management" link.
What are ShelfSpy.com's fees and charges?
Shop Registration and product listings on ShelfSpy.com are free of charge.
How does ShelfSpy.com get the product and pricing information?
Product and pricing data is given to us through a data feed. Currently we support feeds in XML format.
This feed is required to adhere to our specification. To see ShelfSpy.com's feed description please click here http://www.shelfspy.com/Feed Description.
It is the merchant's responsibility to keep the feed up to date. Each new feed will replace the previous one.
Feed can be compressed either as a Gzip or Bzip2.
How do we supply ShelfSpy.com this feed?
There are two possibilities. One is to specify the URL of your feed within Merchant Account Management under the Feed panel.
Here you can also monitor the status of your feed.
Your Feed will be regularly and automatically downloaded from your specified URL and inserted into our system.
Another is to use ShelfSpy© Feed Editor, software which is available to merchants
for creating feeds of up to 1000 items.
How will my products be presented?
We offer searching tools which help shoppers to locate desired products.
Returned results include name, image, short description and price ranges for the particular product.
By clicking on a product, users are taken to a page which contains individual merchants' offers with links to merchants' pages.
How long after we update our feed can we expect to see our products on ShelfSpy.com?
We support immediate Feed update, however currently feeds are updated once a day so
your new feed will be reflected on ShelfSpy.com the next day.
Is there any way to monitor clicks?
Yes you can monitor clicks to your site through "Shop Item Clicks" located under User Account.
What kind of traffic can we expect?
It is difficult to predict as ShelfSpy.com has just been launched.
Rest assured however, that we make every effort in giving our users
a pleasant and useful experience while using ShelfSpy.com.
